1:45 Ascot – The Royal Ascot Local Schools Art Competition Handicap
Mascat made a really pleasing return in Epsom’s Great Metropolitan Handicap, form which will be on show in Friday’s Chester Cup (the well-fancied Solent Getaway finished a neck behind in third). If he can reproduce that effort, he should again go well, whilst JUAN DE MONTALBAN (pictured left) also made an encouraging start to the season, when fourth at Thirsk. He looked to tire a little on soft ground, so should strip fitter and that form has worked out really well, with the second, third and fifth all winning since. The winner also ran well off a 3lbs higher mark (finished a close second) and the lightly-raced four-year-old gets the vote; he warrants each-way support, especially with enhanced place terms on offer.
bettrends advice: JUAN DE MONTALBAN 0.5pts E/W

2:10 Nottingham – The Join Racing TV Now Handicap
The selection is Tom Clover’s ELECTRIC LOVE. A decent Equiano filly, she’s relatively unexposed after only nine starts and rates as a handicapper to progress a decent amount this year. Her season kicked off last time at Epsom, where she was a promising fifth and sent off favourite, and in slightly calmer waters she should be taking advantage of a fair handicap mark of 74 to win under a 7lb claimer.
