Just seen paddy power are offering a free £5 bet on the premier league today - Ed any decent tip to put it on?

{Ed046's Note - just put my bet up for today. Can see there being plenty of goals today. Good luck in what you choose.

Have received another Bettrends bulletin for this weekend. Good luck if any of you a king either selection:

2:05 Newmarket – The Maureen Brittain Memorial Empress Fillies' Stakes
The Hannon yard have an exemplary record in this, and they send out MINNETONKA. A homebred in the Westerberg silks should always be feared, with this Kingman filly of particular interest. She has a fine pedigree, bolted up on debut at Salisbury and looks to have the world at her hooves.
bettrends advice: MINNETONKA 1pt WIN

3:45 Curragh – The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby
Preference is marginally for WESTOVER (pictured nearside), especially now he has eased to second favourite (trading at 7-4 at the time of writing and could drift further, given the likely strength behind Tuesday). Whilst the filly might have been helped by enjoying a smooth passage in the Oaks, Ralph Beckett’s Frankel colt suffered a torrid passage in the Derby 24 hours later, before surging home to take third behind Desert Crown. Although only winning the Classic Trial at Sandown by short-head, he relished the climb to the line and travelled well before meeting trouble at Epsom.
bettrends advice: WESTOVER 1pt WIN

My selections for Friday at Ascot.

2:30 - Believing 25/1
3:05 - Tiber Flow 12/1
3:40 - Cemhann 16/1
5:00 - Gatecrasher Girl 22/1

Good luck if anyone backing anything

Another Bettrends email bulletin for the weekend:

3:55 Chester – The Edinburgh Gin Boyzlife Handicap
Mancini was well-beaten behind SPIRIT MIXER (pictured above) here last month and races from 5lbs out of the handicap, whilst Merlin’s Beard has been progressing on the all-weather and at a lower level. He ran well in defeat at Newbury only last week and is likely to be ridden handy from stall 3. Clearly in good heart at present, more is required in this company.
bettrends advice: SPIRIT MIXER 1pt WIN

3:15 Limerick - The Limerick Racecourse Handicap
Preference in this competitive heat is for the James Nash-trained YOUR HONOR. A son of Lawman who has some experience, he takes a big step up in trip from his run at Gowran over nine furlongs and shaped well enough. He was held up and plugged on in decent style to pass a few horses and finish fifth, and to see him dropped four pounds down to a mark of 50 is a bit of a surprise. He should be a decent price to take an each way punt with.
bettrends advice: YOUR HONOR 0.5pts E/W

Have no idea how keep getting these, but here’s another Bettrends bulletin for SATURDAY, 3RD JUNE

3:10 Epsom – The Cazoo Diomed Stakes (Group 3)
The selection is FINEST SOUND. The Crisfords saddled Century Dream to win this a few times and to be second last year, so they know what it takes to win this contest. He’s often seen over a bit further but the drop in trip shouldn’t be an issue and he looks the best option against two worthy market leaders.
bettrends advice: FINEST SOUND 0.5pts E/W

3:45 Epsom – The Simpex Express “Dash” Handicap Stakes
Our key trends are matched by just two in the field, firstly by Mountain Peak. A talented type, he’s been a regular in big field five furlong handicaps for the last few years and has ran some great races, notably when fifth in the Portland in 2020, twice a winner at Ascot and recently a great fifth in a very hot York handicap. He has the speed to figure and if ridden prominently again should be able to finish well in this unique test. The second key trend horse is THEGREATESTSHOWMAN. Right at the bottom of the handicap, he has the able assistance of Silvestre De Sousa and although on form this looks a step up for him anything can happen in this race. He’s had a few runs to get him going and looks fairly treated down the bottom of the weights.
bettrends advice: THEGREATESTSHOWMAN 0.5pts E/W

Had another Bettrends bulletin for this weekend:
2:20 Haydock - Betfred Double Delight Handicap
Marginal preference in this goes to CONTACT (pictured above) who finished a neck in front of Forza Orta at Thirsk (2lbs better off here) and has since put up a career-best when winning at Newmarket. He stayed-on strongly to beat useful dual-purpose performer Tritonic, with Scarlet Dragon and State Of Bliss further back. The grey looks progressive and is a strong-stayer at this trip, with his previous two visits to the Merseyside track coming in races over 1m6f. Versatile in terms of ground, he remains at the right end of the handicap to strike again.
bettrends advice: CONTACT - 1 point win

3:10 Chester - Proud To Support Chester Racecourse Handicap
Of the four-year-olds in this the obvious stand-out is the rapidly-improving SPIRIT MIXER who won at Chelmsford (all-weather) last time, but had earlier scored at Salisbury and looks a highly-progressive young stayer. Andrew Balding’s Frankel gelding appeared to need his reappearance and was boxed in on his penultimate start, but once extricated, won with a bit in hand. He then bolted up at Chelmsford only last week and although up a further 9lbs, the way he travels in his races suggests that he is likely able to be competitive at a higher level. Easier ground (there is rain forecast throughout Thursday) shouldn’t be an issue and he is fancied to complete the hat-trick.
bettrends advice: SPIRIT MIXER - 1 point win

No worries Ed - only the 1 placed runner out of the 3 put up yesterday for a small profit.

Some big priced winners so far as well as numerous very large placed horses.

Hopefully between us we can nail a few, starting with Thunder Moor??

Totally agree Ed.
Personally would not spend money on tips - absolutely no such thing as a dead cert. Even if a horse is tipped up there’s so much that can go against it in a race - flat race can easily get boxed in or miss the break. Jumps race can easily get affected by a faller or a poor jump.

Personally only spend money on info for the Cheltenham festival and then use it in conjunction with my own research.

1:45 Ascot – The Royal Ascot Local Schools Art Competition Handicap
Mascat made a really pleasing return in Epsom’s Great Metropolitan Handicap, form which will be on show in Friday’s Chester Cup (the well-fancied Solent Getaway finished a neck behind in third). If he can reproduce that effort, he should again go well, whilst JUAN DE MONTALBAN (pictured left) also made an encouraging start to the season, when fourth at Thirsk. He looked to tire a little on soft ground, so should strip fitter and that form has worked out really well, with the second, third and fifth all winning since. The winner also ran well off a 3lbs higher mark (finished a close second) and the lightly-raced four-year-old gets the vote; he warrants each-way support, especially with enhanced place terms on offer.
bettrends advice: JUAN DE MONTALBAN 0.5pts E/W

2:10 Nottingham – The Join Racing TV Now Handicap
The selection is Tom Clover’s ELECTRIC LOVE. A decent Equiano filly, she’s relatively unexposed after only nine starts and rates as a handicapper to progress a decent amount this year. Her season kicked off last time at Epsom, where she was a promising fifth and sent off favourite, and in slightly calmer waters she should be taking advantage of a fair handicap mark of 74 to win under a 7lb claimer.
bettrends advice: ELECTRIC LOVE 1pt WIN
